Handgun laser test fail

This from liveleak it's a black and white surveillance cam from a gun range. The laser on the pistol isn't working and he does what he shouldn't when looking for the beam and shoots his hand

Well let's see here. Treat every firearm as if it is loaded, not check. Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to fire, not check. Don't point the firearm at anything you're not willing to destroy, not check. Be aware of your target and what is beyond it, ehh not check. I guess gun safety 101 was show here, not check.
B-Sing aside that sucks bad. Must of hurt(not just hand but pride also)
