Do any FFLs modify high cap mags?

I was wondering if it was possible to order high cap mags and send them to an FFL and have them modify them.

I'll order mostly all the parts. All the FFL would need to do is install the mag limiting device.

I live in the bay area.

I believe the answer is yes, but I think the FFL has to order them. Why don't you just buy whatever mag you're looking for online? There's plenty of sites that sell standard capacity mags capped at 10 rounds.

The mags I'm looking at are 2.97 per mag for standard capcity and nearly 20 for capped ones. The parts to modify them are 5.00 a piece.

I also believe that an ffl has to order them, block them, then sell them to you. With an extra charge to block the mags of course

This. It's not going to be cost effective to have an FFL block the mags.

The only time I have seen block the mags as a necessity is when the gun only comes with standard cap mags (buying used or through PPT), and it's necessary to have the receiving FFL cap the mags to take possession.

I swear I searched for hours on Google and could not find this sight.

              Thanks.

What would be the legality of having a friend from out of state cap the mags? Like he buys them caps them and them sells them to me?

as long as he permanently blocks them correctly should be fine. that's a lot of round about to save a few bucks. just buy them from a vendor and be done with it.

Well before this thread I could find them for 18 a piece.
