    "PRS" Sling Recommendation

I'm familiar with USGI cotton and 1907 slings, and am looking around to see if there are other alternatives I should try. I'm using this sling on an AR mainly for 2gun match where precision is necessary and bipod places me in open div (not to mention I don't want bipod anyway).

I like USGI cotton, but it takes forever to get into. It doesn't slip which is great. However, it cannot be adjusted long enough for rifle retention (e.g. pistol transition) and used as support at the same time. Throwing the rifle over the shoulder is kind of frowned upon cause you'd muzzle sweep everyone behind you.

The 1907 can be adjusted all the way out for a 2pt retention and front half used as shooting support, but adjustment takes forever and the keepers/sling side down. Even if I start slung up, by the time I go prone, shoot, get up to the next position, the sling has already lost tension.

    Candidates I'm looking at:
    • TAB Gear Sling - basically a 1907 redone in nylon
    • Rifle Only Sling - has loop up front and a bungee section that promises to give some tension (maybe not as good as a hasty) while retaining rifle
    • SAP Positional Sling - has the adjustment tab to tighten up while in loop sling but doesn't have bungee so I can use it like a hasty if needed, plus a buckle to get out of the sling in a hurry

Any other slings I should look at? Thoughts? All the slings look like they have tons of 550cords / buckles coming out the rear end, which I'm not a fan of.

I don't know if this is going to have too many buckles for you. It can, however, be quickly converted between single point and double point, as needed.

Thanks, but not necessarily what I'm looking for. I'm looking for slings that can let me shoot supported. That sling looks like it'll only support hasty and not loop.

Haven't tried it at all. Came across it while looking for a loop setup that I could get into and out of easily. Haven't taken the plunge and ordered yet.

I have used the old GI slings in the Corps on m-14s and M-16s. I use the quik-cuff exclusively, now. Much quicker and more secure.
