why does CA ranges so stingy with long range lanes?

    why does CA ranges so stingy with long range lanes?

    I been to a few out of state ranges and its pretty much a flat land out to 1200 yards. Pay 10 bucks and you shoot all day at any distance you want.

    Here in CA I been a member of a few clubs but all of them require you to either be an elite class of members or be in a long range shooting club to use the range. So, why the restirction? I know Sac Valley even has requirements to shoot 300 yards where as Oroville you got access out close to 600 meters...and its free. So why all the rules??

                  Colonga is about 5 hours drive for me atm. Haha. But when Im back in Fresno, I might give it a shot.

                          Thats no bad. The one i was at was about 220 per year. However, i was thinking of more for rec use vs needing to be in a club to use the 1000y lanes.

                                              Was a thread tittle that the guy didn't complete and he didn't notice it..he was referring to handgun roster changes.

                                                      You don't even have to be a member to shoot in the matches, but for thirty bucks, why not join?
