What's the best ammo to feed a Walther P22? Tried a Federal 40Grain HV, but won't feed first 2 rounds of the mag. I know it's a picky ammo gun and heard CCI Mini mags are best. But throwing it out there.

Yup. CCI mini mags.

There are also mods you can do to help. Other Rimfire type forums will have info you need.

The P22 needs a round with a bit more "zing" to it. Mini-mags or Golden Boolitz should do the trick.

Mine eats anything. But from the sounds of it I got lucky.

I love mine. They are VERY well known to be finicky. There is an entire pdf that shows all of the improvements (like feed ramp polishing) you can make to it to make it less finicky.

I did a LOT of research on this topic when I bought mine many years ago and the prevailing view is HV CCI minimags. IIRC, there is even a site that did tests on a bunch of different rounds. You need some good power to rack the slide so you need to really use an HV round and CCI, IF you can get it these days, is as quality as it gets.
