Cylindrical Muzzle Break and Compensator not for ARs

This is not for AR type rifles. I am looking for Muzzle Breaks and/or Compensators (what ever you call them) for a .308 and a 300 Win Mag rifles (Rem 700) but really dislike the wide or half saucer shaped ones that look like you have scrap metal attached to the end of your barrel. Are there any good ones that work effectively and are Cylindrical in shape?

I use one from Tacticool22 on my .338wm. Blends in well, works as advertised, but isn't overly obnoxious. Nice people too.

See if Hera Arms makes the Linear Compensator in your caliber.

Ken L and Glock this, Thanks for your suggestions. Both of those look great and 1000 times better looking on a gun than ones that resemble dragon fins not to mention the pain of slipping the rifle in and out of the case.

Op, are u looking for fashion over function? There is a reason why most bolt action brakes look the same.

            I used PRI on a 308 rifle I assembled.
Very good recoil reduction and no snag.
*NOT for a hunting rig IMO (in case you're wondering)

Vitagearms, I am not paricularly looking for fashion over function but I am very picky about the looks of a gun. Lets say if there was a triangular shaped compensator with 100% function and a round one like the ones above with 80% function, I'll thake the 80%. That is how much I dislike a big ugly chunck of metal at the end of my barrel. Thanks for asking.

I use the PRI 308 MSTN Straight Quiet Control Brake on my Rem700 and my CMMG .308 AR. Works well for me.

You can find brakes that are turned to just about the same contour as your existing barrel.

                      Ross Schuler

I brought this topic up a few months ago. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1155648

I went with what was really reccomnend and got a brake from Ross. You measure your barrel 5/8" back from the end, and give him that measurement. He then turns your brake to match your barrels profile. $45 shipped, he got mine out the same day I ordered it.
