    Sight picture

I just got a 1911 tac model in 45 I know they are Novak style cuts.
Here's my problem I shoot about 6" low with both pistols, no matter what ammo I use. I have to hold it so I see the complete front sight, basically I have to cover the target with the front sight. I also have a gi and cz40b that I shoot as well. I aim with sight image 2 in the attached pic. I've shot other 1911s and I'm spot on with that sight image

How can I fix this? Is this normal for this gun?

Don't know if it's part of the manufacturer's design to have it print where it does, but it's normal for a gun's sights not to match a particular shooter. If you're shooting good, repeatable groups, then you can confidently say it is the sights being off.

If you don't have adjustable sights, then you need to replace the ones on the gun with sights with different heights, or break out the file. You can do the math to figure out how tall your sights should be, and if they're dovetailed into the slide then it's fairly easy to drift an old one out and a new one in.

The mnemonic I use to remember which way to go with the sights is FORS: Front Opposite, Rear Same.

So if you need to raise your POI, lower the front or raise the rear.
I meant, it is my opinion that...
