CA shipping of ammunition,... possibly being targeted?

I have gotten a few shipments from Midway in the past few years, mostly ammunition, sometimes other things. Although Midway has been notorious with poor packing, the most that I have run into is scuffed up labels and in one case, the plastic CCI containers had a few cracks in it.

On Friday though, the package was all but destroyed.

    First opened,...

After the top layer was taken out,...

In one corner of the shipping box it is crumpled down, much in the same way it would be if it were thrown to the ground. There was very small (in some case dust like) pieces of plastic throughout the box. The 500 round box of CCI standard velocity ammo had crumpled damage to it with boxes inside that box having cracks, all running in the same direction.

What I find hard to believe is that this simply fell off the truck with the amount of damage to it. What I find less hard to believe is that someone decided to throw the package down in the ground due to it being marked as ammo (or similar) from Midway.

I don't think there's a UPS/California Democrat conspiracy to ruin shipped ammunition. UPS is just being UPS. (However, that being said, Midway won't even ship an order to many cities in Cali - even those who have NO prohibition against web orders).

          It's heavy...some employees resent that.

Maybe I am just around too many anti-gun folks and it is skewing my view of things. Each of them feel 'entitled' to take any measures necessary in order to remove firearms from anyone who owns them.

I can't shake the feeling that it was not the weight, or stupidity, or any other reason outside of someone seeing the box and deciding to damage it because of what it was. And, I don't think that this person will lose a moment of sleep over it as they think they are saving people.

Looks like piss poor packaging to me. I have ordered ammo from the likes of J&G Sales and SGAmmo and UPS has always done their part, never had a problem. Tampering with mail/parcels would be a violation of Federal Law. Makes no sense that a UPS employee would risk their job and possible prosecution to sabatage a parcel of ammo bound for CA...

Contact Midway, they need to see what poor packaging their employees are doing...

This is purely due to Midways packaging methods. I recently placed two orders with them. One for a scope and the other for ammo. Ammo arrived in similar condition to yours. Scope was put in a Mylar envelope with no padding. Scope box was destroyed but fortunately scope was not damaged. I did speak to the Midway folk and they said that they would pass the information on. Whatever that means.

Summary: Midway, great prices, quick shipping, piss poor packaging.

I haven't bought from Midway in years and I remember ammo arriving with a hole in the corner and .22 literally dribbling out every time it was moved. There was a couple rounds on the porch and probably a bunch in the truck...

I forgot to add that the 'bubble bags' (those grey colored air bags) were all popped as well.

Their packaging is very poor, you can read reviews for the ammo where people complain about this very problem. I have ordered the same kind of 'plastic' box ammo and in the same kind of packaging, it came scuffed and cracked but nothing like this. It was obviously thrown to the ground with a pretty good amount of force OR (to be gracious) it fell from at least 10'+ to do the kind of damage that was done to it.

I fail to see why anyone in their right mind would think that this is any indication of some conspiracy against California ammo purchasers.

This thread belongs somewhere besides in discussion of California Politics & Activism.

Well it does fall under Activism, just the other side,... in my opinion.

Depending on your age, you may (or may not) get the following:
