    Range recommendation? (shotgun)

Hi! I recently moved to the San Diego area. Any recommendations for an outdoor range? Shooting with a Rem 870 Exp Tact.

Not necessarily for clay shooting...just target practice in general. I guess I better read recommendations here than in Yelp!

    Thanks!

P2k, South Bay rod and gun, rainbow, pala. Those are a few outdoor ranges here in San Diego..(make sure you google and check schedules, pala has weird hours because the hold matches on the weekend. Also I believe the range up in rainbow is members only)

Plenty of indoor ranges allow shotguns as well. Discount gunmart, poway weapons and gear, American shooting range, the gun range..too many to list.

And last but not least, technically not a range but you always have blm

Isn't Rainbow a club too? Or will they let anyone shoot? Never been out there.

How is pala? Doesn't it have a bunch of steel targets set up at a bunch of distances?

^^ I have not been personally but friends have gone up there and yes there's steel targets setup from 200-900yrds. You're shooting at an incline and as far as I know this is the longest outdoor range around San Diego.
For rainbow I've read on their website that it may be members only but I could be wrong.

You're welcome jpie and welcome to the forum!

Rainbow is members only. Shotguns were limited to clay pigeons last time I went to the shotgun portion. No 'target practice' with tacticool shotguns and such.

                *Update*
Went to P2K and I have to say it is a pretty nice place. Well organized and clean; friendly staff. Huge variety if you are looking to add something to your collection.

+ 1 for P2K for the same reasons.
