We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

The takedown lever (if that is what it is) and safety setup is different from the Ruby.

This man is correct. I had thought it was a vz.27, but then I saw the cocking serrations.

in the pictures I found on the internet, the maker's mark is across the top of the slide. On this one the maker's mark has been obliterated by crosshatched marks. Why? Is there some history here that someone might know. This was clearly done by a machine

There was some discussion recently about altered markings on guns and how that is a federal beef. the serial numbers are clear and not altered, but the manufacturer info is gone completely.

                  What are your thoughts?

                            Update:

The gun was considered no functioning when I got it.

Problem #1. The mag would not stay in the mag well. Neither would you if you were the wrong mag for this gun. So I need to find the right mag.

Problem #2. The trigger and safety were messed up. first the safety on this works different than anything I have personally seen. The lever goes down for safe/no fire, but then you push a separate button to take the safety off. Second the trigger would not reset. I removed the access plate to get to the guts and found them packed with cosmoline and crusty gunk. Shot of gunscrub and breakfree and everything works!

Impressions. This thing is made like a safe, heavy steel finely machined. The more I mess with it the more impressed I am with the workmanship.

Again, anyone with any knowledge of these send me a pm.

P.s. Some units marked their guns on the front strap. I found that someone tried to obscure those numbers as well. What is the story?
