    Gun Documentaries?

Anyone know of any good gun-related documentaries? I just watched an episode of "American Genius" about Smith & Wesson and Colt, and it got me wondering what else is out there.

The MidwayUSA TV program 'Gun Stories' hosted Joe Mantegna is one of my favorites.

CBS Sunday Morning had a 1.5hour news story on guns that was pretty good check their website. It was broke into different chapters and had some history etc

I've found some by searching youtube for specific firearms/inventors. Watched too many to list, but lots of them seem to be converted from vhs... Yarr

ugh, that was atrocious. 95% of it was Their personalities clashed! and the parts that did show guns were grossly inaccurate.

I have an old documentary that I recorded on VHS, which I have labeled as "A&E Doc Story of The Gun", that is still the best I've seen. Informative, a good history lesson, and features some prominent & scholarly gun people, including Ol' Bill Ruger himself.

I believe this is the one:

A small bit from the program:

I recommend it despite the fact that the NRA once used it to try and extort money from their members. They sent out a VHS that had an abbreviated version of the braodcast, then followed it up with letters demanding payment for same. I wrote them back that what they were doing was in fact a crime, and they stopped their collection efforts.
I meant, it is my opinion that...

Don't know if you call it a documentary but the firearm episodes of GySgt R Lee Ermey's Lock n Load series that was on the History Channel are not that bad. It's very general, and there's a lot more history out there but it's a good start. You can even watch them on YouTube.

This documentary "Colonial gunsmith" has a easy-going, mellow feel and shows you almost everything you need to build blackpowder rifles along with teaching a lot about firearms.
it reminded me of the documentary classic "alone in the wilderness"

here is it's thread if anyone on Calguns wants to talk about..
