    Need help

    Hello Calgunners,

I need help. So here is my situation, I moved to California(los angeles) from Texas back in early 2014 and became a Cal resident. Now 2016, I still have property in Texas and was thinking about visiting for about two weeks. So my question is if I wanted to decide on bringing my shotgun (Remington 870) with me I bought back in 2013, would I need to register it or what or how can I bring it in to cali. is it too late to report it to DOJ using a new resident form even though Ive been a resident for about two years now? I'm driving by the way.

As far as I know, they give you a year to register without penalties. Better call the ca doj yourself and ask how to proceed. You should be fine imho.

        We don't know for sure.

There is no time limit in CA Penal Code for a New Resident.

But life is really simpler if folks bring everything the first time ...

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
