    HK P7 series wrecks brass?

I am hearing that 9mm brass shot in a HK P7 is not reloadable because of damage caused by the fluted chamber.

    Any truth to this?

I am always looking for Beretta D models in 9mm or a Compact Type M.

P7 has fluted chamber, and I think even the VP70. P9S doesn't to my knowledge.

I'd imagine that on their handguns that have flutted chambers, they would damage the brass in a similar fashion as their rifles. That being said, I'd imagine it COULD be salvaged but it probably wouldn't be the best brass to reuse and probably would have a low reload life.

I have picked up and reloaded lots of 9mm brass that was run through a fluted chamber. No problems for me, but I reload conservative.

I'd just be happy owning a P7 in the first place...

fluted chambers damaging brass?? myth...... it's perfectly good to reload and shoot in any gun for that caliber......I've been reloading brass for years that has been shot out of fluted chambers with no problems at all......I would get 15-18 reloads out of my HK-91 before I would get neck splits....9mm brass isn't a problem either...

I would agree with NRAhighpower shooter. The HKs with fluted chambers will leave the flute marks in brass, but the brass is still reloadable, it just looks different with the flute marks.

IIRC, the black lines on the ejected P7 brass are just unburnt powder.

Yup. It wipes right off with a rag and the brass looks just fine.

                              Not a bit.

I reload brass from my P7 and Beretta with no problems.
