    Gun insurance

I have a question.... and would appreciate any constructive input.

    1) Gun Insurance. Who do you recommend for a stand alone gun insurance (replacement costs NOT...liability) quote/coverage? Costs? etc.

    Thanks

I believe the insurance through the NRA is %1 of covered amount so $10,000 in coverage runs $100 per year

You only have to provide serial numbers if the firearm is worth $2500 or more
you also must be a NRA member

I was doing research on this awhile back. I suggest you do too (here is a great start :-) . NRA offers "free" insurance of some kind but what I read, it is a joke.

These are (2) companies i did some research on and they seem good to go and respected. ymmv. Do your own diggin.

Check out how AM Best rates any insurance company. If it isn't A- or better, i would look elsewhere.

Did you search? The question comes up about once a month and much has been written on it. Seems like NRA and CollectInsur usually come up as the top two. Note that you get a couple thousand with your basic NRA membership so keep that in mind if you're a member.

I'm with CollectInsure and have been very happy with their service.

I'm pretty sure they would look at what it would cost to buy a new one (the off roster one) and that's what you get. You're then free to go out and buy whatever you want.
