Fail DROS For Vehicle Registration?

Hey guys, here's the situation - I have two cars, one has current and active registration, the other is sitting in my garage and I have not renewed my registration on it. I have a handgun in jail at the moment and was wondering if it'll fail due to the expired registration on my second car (which I intend to take care of first thing tomorrow). Thoughts?

And you may opt to apply for the cheaper non-op rather than a regular registration if you know your car may continue to sit in the garage for what3ever reason (because racecar, or because repairs). The DMV only wants your money, so stay current with either choice... but I highly doubt one would fail a firearms background check through the CA DOJ for an expired vehicle registration alone.

Always, always file non op if you don't plan to renew for whatever reason. But no it should not impact your DROS.

I suggest non op as well, if you plan to leave it sitting without registration. I'm pretty sure fees stop accumulating after 3 yrs but it can be a pain in the butt to register it after that. I left a car sitting for 8yrs and thought I non op it.

Fsc d/l and current ehicle registration and you good to go. Fishing license may work for id but not in lieu of fsc for handgun.

Incorrect. A suspended license will but not expired registration. Unless you try to use an expired registration as proof of residency.
