    Gunsmith for mouse guns

Recommendations needed for excellent gunsmiths in the Sacramento or Placer county areas. I need a gunsmith that has experience in tuning up unreliable mouse guns.
My 25acp pocket gun will only shoot the last round out of a magazine so in essence it is a derringer...help!

Make? Model? I used to have a Phoenix Arms Raven...
If you need help with any stragglers, call a friend, because it's likely that they have a gun. America in particular have done exceptionally well taking care of the problem, as there are 1.12 guns for every 1 American citizen. So throw a rock, you'll probably hit a gun, pick up that gun, then shoot a zombie.

Second rule of owning a mousegun: use ammo with plenty of punch.
If you haven't used Fioccho ammo, I recommend trying it.

There's only so much punch a 25 auto can give. If the gun is decent I use a hotter European brand with ball ammo and hope that penetration, shot placement and multiple hits will get job done. I rarely carry a 25 anymore anyhow due to guns the size of the NAA Guardian being available.

A bit late to this thread, but here's some penetration data for various .25 ACP rounds.

Bruce at Pocket Guns & Gear (PG&G) http://mousegunaddict.blogspot.com/ , John at Brass Fetcher (BF) http://www.brassfetcher.com , and Shawn at Firearms Tactical (FT) (sadly no longer online) have conducted gel penetration tests of 25 ACP ammo from a 2.4" barrel Beretta (950BS, Model 21A, Model 20).

The attached graph shows penetration in inches vs velocity in FPS in 10% gel.

The Winchester, Blazer, and Remington FMJ's achieved 14+ inches in bare gel. S&B FMJ only 10.5". Fiocchi FMJ was in between those.

Winchester Expanding Point (which appears to be no longer available) achieved 13". Speer and Hornady JHP's were generally in the 6.5" - 8.5" range.

All the data is available in an online Excel spreadsheet in which I've gathered velocity and penetration data on ~17 different kinds of .25 ACP ammo from Pocket Guns & Gear, Brass Fetcher, Firearms Tactical, Steve's Pages, Oldgranpa, Ballistics by the Inch, and others. It includes ~220 chrono readings and ~60 penetration/expansion measurements.

File name: .25 ACP Ammo Data by Al-c95c Dec 26 2015 Link: http://1drv.ms/1R1QLdq

The color coding on the penetration data in the spreadsheet is as follows.

White background = less than 9" in gel
          Yellow background = 9.0 - 9.9" in gel
          Gold background = 10.0 - 11.9 in gel
Green background = 12" or greater in gel

Black background = Wetpack or Water jugs

My thanks to these individuals for investing their time, energy, and money to provide this information to their fellow gun owners.

Please let me know of any errors you find and also any additional data you are aware of and I'll update the spreadsheet.

          Thanks,

          Al
