    Armalite AR-10 legal?

So my old man is bugging me about his buddy's recent new rifle. Apparently he bought an Armalite AR-10 from Turners with a bullet button. Years ago my father specifically wanted an Armalite but settled on an Aero since the Armalite was banned by name. So whats the deal?

            Armalite AR-10 is make/model banned.

A few years ago, Armalite changed the markings on some AR10 receiver (which makes them off-list) so they could make/sell CA legal AR-10s. Prior to that they were using Aero Precision lowers for their CA legal AR-10s.

Dammit California. All I have ever wanted was a Costa Mesa made Armalite Ar18. The gun was born here, why can't it reside here?

Because it is legally a Title 2 MG.

                  Armalite AR-18 = Title 2 MG
                  Armalite AR-180 = Title 1 Rifle

Okay fine and an AK47 doesn't include any stamped receiver rifles. You know what I meant.
