10/30 Round Magazines. Is that a Good idea?

Another thread made me think of this: If California doesn't want you to own large capacity magazines, does it make sense to use 10/30 mags in public? Discuss.

I have some don't use them, they only hold 10 rounds and get it the way if you are shooting prone or at a bench.

I have never had anyone ask me to look and make sure they were blocked if that is what you are asking.

I think the 10 round limit is dumb but I also follow it to the "T" on something that could make you a felon. (over 10 rounds + fixed mag = felon)

I do have 17 round mags for my PT99 but don't use them a lot ether.

I don't care. I'm legal and I know it, if someone wants to call the police and have them check that's fine. After the police check they'll leave me alone and I'll keep enjoying my time.

they are legal use them, i use my 20 rounders they are legal. it just sucks we have to be on the look out for stupid police officers that can ruin your life for their stupidity.

10 round magazines are legal in any configuration, as long as it only holds 10 rounds, regardless of its appearance. If you don't feel comfortable using them, don't. I've never had anyone say anything to me about my magazines.

Either it holds 10 rounds or not. Attacking this issue based on "looks" is ridiculous.

I have a hot-rod yellow custom car holding a 540HP LT1 engine under the hood, and C.A.R.B. legal. It will do a 12.5 second quarter mile and top-speed of about 160MPH. If I'm driving 60MPH within a 65MPH zone on a nice clear day, in public - SO?

Should I resign myself to only driving a bland, gray, Toyota Prius 60MPH within a 65MPH zone on a nice clear day just to be SURE I'm going the speed limit? There is no sense in that.

The "sense" is either it's legal or it's not. Aesthetics and appearances need not apply.

They're legal, so I use them freely. No one has ever checked them, questioned them, or suggested their disuse. No paranoia here.

Under current CA laws...
As long as they are permanently modified to accept 10 rounds, they are 100% legal to own/use/transfer.

Because they are 100% CA legal, the CA legislature is currently trying to ban them* via SB1446.

*Them being magazines that have been permanently modified to accept 10 rounds but appear to hold more than 10 rounds.
