    Classic Firearms ?

I was thinking of picking up a Mosin from Classic Firearms. Has anyone dealt with them before ? Are they good prices ? They seem to be cheaper than Gun Broker.

Ask everyone on the C&R Board about their experience with Classic with the last batch of Burns M39 Finns. Classic is not a good vendor, they lie and pull shenanigans. I would strongly recommend J&G or AIM over Classic. I have bought several rifles from Classic and they were fine but that was a few years ago and lately, they have pissed off a lot of people.

      Definitely prefer J&G Sales.

        Agreed -

I picked up a laminate 91-30 from them a few years ago and had no problems but it seems lately their customer service isn't what it used to be.

I'll just add that Gunbroker prices always seem a little higher than C&R sellers be it Classic, Simpsons Ltd, J&G etc. Not sure why...though occasionally there is a deal if there isn't much bidder attention.
Everyone on Calguns keeps talking about TDS. I never knew we had so many fish keepers!

The TDS on my 10gallon tanks 110ppm
The TDS on my 29 gallon tank is 150ppm (due to substrate)

Their marketing tends to be misleading at best. It's the last batch we're ever going to get but the quality is so super high, etc. etc. They open a crate like it's random when they packed the crate in the first place. So that's the general concern. Also the handpick fee they appear to just pocket - it doesn't get you anything.

In terms of Mosins my main concern would be optimistic grade descriptions and high prices.

My recommendation is to check out http://www.themosincrate.com

I've had good luck with Classic for AK parts kits, but never bought a C&R from them. The Swiss rifles and lately the Finn Mosins I've seen posted have been below their stated condition.

I prefer Simpson - you might pay a little more but they are pretty accurate in their description, their customer service is good, and you can call them and they'll pull a gun for you to discuss any concerns or check specifics.

If you're just looking for a standard 91/30 you might want to consider buying via ppt so you can inspect it. You may pay a little more but you'll know what you're getting.

Holy crap! I bought a pair of yugo M70s from them like a year ago and they were fine and happy to ship to CA as long as I provided/mailed the mag locks

Didn't have any shenanigans then but now I'm nervous to ever give them more business

I usually look to the secondary market on this forum, and others, especially gunboards.com - trusted collectors with a rep to protect.

I have gone with classic in the past with good results, but recently it seems their QC is going downhill.

J&G has always been good to me, as well as AIM and SOG.

Armslist and gunbroker are a crap shoot, but I've done well.

themosincrate.com has been killing it lately - but you have to be attentive and quick on the draw. They have a batch coming up on Monday morning, 10am EST - will probably be sold out by 11. Check them out right now!

I've found some real gems at local gun shows and LGS.

I bought a High Standard riot gun from them. Smooth transaction.

I bought a couple of guns from them before the M39 fiasco as well, no issues. Real shame how they handled that.

Classic is great. I used to just visit turners and Atlantic firearms website, I bought a vepr 12 from classic recently. excellent customer service.

I got a M39 from them in the beginning of the M39 frenzy. I got pretty much exactly what I wanted. But, I'd say I was the exception.
Furthermore, I don't buy "lottery" guns anymore. Which is why I'd recommend going with companies like Simpson or Mosin Crate.
