I decided to spent a lot more time this year shooting 3-gun and maybe a few pistol matches and I am looking for a place to practice near the Hayward area, say 45 min to an hour drive. Not afraid to drive further if needed but would like to be able to do two or three days a week of practice when I am in town. Shooting off a bench is not optimal and I need to improve. It seems like even if I join a club the times that bays are open would be difficult to make work.
In my head what seems like it would work the best is BLM land or private property with permission would work out best, I would bring out steel and paper targets, setup and run some drills, clean up and leave.
Would not be opposed to others shooting with me, but this is really so I can get better and stop using matches as practice. I am currently purchasing steel targets and some target stands etc. just need to find a good spot or two where I can run with guns and not break any rules.
