Rifle Range near Turlock???

Im not originally from this area and I would like some guidance from my local 209ers as to where the closest public land is that I can shoot on. Looking for something that will offer 500yrds and as close to turlock as possible. Im originally from NorCal (530) and I could find long range shooting with no problem but around these parts everything seems to be 1-1.5hrs away any hints would be great.

Nothing 500 yards nearby.
Several 100 yard ranges and one 200 yard one.

You will have a hard time finding 500yards around here, Tumey and BLM land in Mariposa is close public land to shoot on.

its amazing to me that patterson, that is 20 min away, with awesome rolling hills has yet to put together a proper rifle range. Is all that land private?
