    FedEx or UPS??

Have to ship a weapon back to the manufacture. Have had some hassles with UPS previously. Any preferences on these two carriers? Do's or Don'ts? Thanks.

I've shipped with Fed Ex before mostly because that's who SA told me to ship with. Never had a problem. Just make sure the location you are dropping it off at accepts firearms. Some don't.

Ask the manufacturer if they can send you a label, even if you have to pay for it, it'll be easier and likely cheaper than doing it yourself.

      -Ship through Fedex
-If you don't have a prepaid label, sign up online and buy/print your label to make drop off easier.
-Drop off directly at the hub, no questions or hassle from employees.

I usually find UPS to be cheaper. And honestly, my experience has been that they both suck in equal amounts.

Make sure you insure it in the event it goes missing. And don't forget to put your contact info inside the box.

In my business we ship Fedex because we got lower negotiated rates. We've had very few incidents out of thousands of orders.

            Both perform about the same.
With FedEx, you can have it picked up...you will need to tell the driver it is a firearm.

Neither. If the manufacture won't email you a prepaid shipping label then
Go to an FFL and pay him to ship the gun. FFLs can use the USPS and cost is
$25 to 40 bucks instead of $80 to $100 via UPS and or Fed Ex.

              Call an FFL first.

I shipped out my revolver to S&W with Fedex Express. And S&W shipped it back once they were done. No issues at all!!

This^^^ has been my experience. Started out using UPS-way too many lost packages-switched to Fed Ex, no more problems.

FedEx, but must point out that they recently required me to be at home to sign for a package from Sig-Sauer. It was only a slide for a 1911 and FedEx would not let me pick it up at their center even with two forms of photo ID???

They claimed that was Sig's instructions, it was not.

This is why do not buy ammo from targetsportsUSA. They ship FedEx and direct that the package cannot be redirected to a FedEx service center.

With packages that are shipped UPS I do not have this problem.

Have your local FFL send it USPS for you. Much cheaper that way.

Had nosebleeds with FEDEX that I've never had with UPS.
I'll always go UPS if I have the choice.

Hey all, Thanks for the opinions. I had forgotten about my FFL so will check his pricing. I now remember that UPS wanted some insane amount which was the last straw. Appreciate you time. Thanks.

I've used both for 30+ years. I prefer UPS. FedEx will not pay a damage claim. UPS always pays if you packed properly.
