Even if you ignore the antics of Dimitri the 2a rodeo clown, the fact is that they've repeatedly had various people representing the business posting on calguns about how they're going to improve their customer service and products, get things shipped on time, respond to customers, and so on over the course of a few years now, and still failing.

So I didn't know where else to put this that maybe Ares, or rather now American Weapons Components will see this but their customer service for online orders really sucks. I ordered a sling Feb 5th with the understanding that it was 3-5 weeks until shipped. I still havnt got the thing and it is absolutely impossible to get ahold of their customer support. Ive been trying for 3 weeks now and im about to give up and dispute it with my card company. This "ticket" system they use is total B.S.What the hell guys. Lesson learned. Mods, please feel free to move this.

Calguns members charged money for the build parties too.

That doesn't make free ones illegal.

I have to say that AWC has got to have the worst customer service department in the history of customer service. I've tried contacting them in regards to an order I've placed for over 3 weeks now and nothing....crickets. I've tried calling, leaving messages, email, you name it and nothing. The only method I haven't tried is carrier pigeon......I suggest steering high and wide of these guys for anyone wanting to order anything from them. They sure bug the living **** out of me with email advertisements... At least they do that effectively lol.

Wow, Oceanside is loosing a bunch of gun stores. Ares, Quantico, that mom and pop store on the corner of mission and coast. I spent a lot of my days there.

A bit necro but I'm in the same boat right now. Ordered some slings that were supposedly in stock back in March and haven't heard anything either. Shame bc I actually really liked the ares compensator and slings and never had a problem ordering compensators in the past.

Wondering if anyone else found a way to contact them or got their stuff. I actually posted a question to them on cgn before and they answered it there but the account seems to be inactive now.

If they go under I REALLY hope someone buys the rights to their compensators and slings. The sling was my favorite hands down for anything other than long range. Their comps are top 3 for me too.

Y'all were warned about their service. Their issues are no secret. It's hard to have much sympathy if you still chose to order.

Ares is a train wreck that's been happening for 3 years.

Ares Oceanside is the same as Ares in South Bay?

I went to the Oceanside store this last week after it reopened and talked to the guy at the counter (can't remember his name) who was recently hired by the new owners and came from the Oceanside Quantico Tactical store that recently closed down.

Apparently after the recent sale the new owners laid off all of the "knuckleheads" (his words) that worked there and are starting fresh with a new name. They plan on getting an armorer there once or twice a week and will have a FFL to do transfers and what not...

The inventory in the store seems to have improved a lot since they have doubled their floor space and will start stocking more things... They are working with a new manufacturer that is going to be making handguards that looked (from their samples on the counter) just like the Parallax Tactical handguards...

I would say that the Oceanside Ares Armor and it's people is in fact gone, and a new store American Weapons Components is taking it's place. So hopefully you guys can finally put an end to the Ares Armor bashing and give this new place a chance...

BTW - I have no affiliation with Ares or AWC.

yea that Mom and Pop store had all kinds of cool Milsurps, and they sold other cool stuff too.

I wonder why Quantico Tactical closed down, they did have a retarded policy on not releasing a gun unless the DROS came back "Approved", they F'ed over my Father in Law who worked at S.O.N.G.S. with that policy, hell he had a better clearance than I did LOL. But they carried alot of cool stuff as well and the Mil/1st responder program was good. I got my M&P 9 FS for $350 from there.

I ordered a sling from Ares just before they went under. Been four months and nothing. Since I was in the Oceanside area today, I decided to swing by the warehouse at 2420 Industry St. There was a sign outside stating "For Lease". I'm thinking to myself, I'm S.O.L. on the sling. Walked up to the door and heard voices inside, so I decided to knock. Guy answers the door and tells me to come in. Looks like the place where most of the Ares sling and bags were made. Guy tells me Ares Armor and American Weapons is out of business and the bank now owns the inventory inside. But, he was nice enough to find a sling that was laying around and gave it to me. Same sling I had ordered. Sucks they are gone now, but if you are local, they will try to make it right.

They may be nice as people but as a business they are horrible.
They took pre-orders for 80% and never shipped them while selling them in their brick and mortar store.
They also ran build parties and made it a point to rub it in the CA politicians faces so they had to rewrite the rules on those.
