    Funny thing

Couple of weeks ago in my CCW class there was a lady in the class that you knew shouldn't own a gun (Said she needed it because she travels selling essential oil)

Went to the gun shop and asked what do i need to protect myself and they sold her a 38cal wheel gun, she couldn't reload fast enough to qualify with it.
So after the range we go back to the class and the instructor asked for someones magazine to show us something she handed him guns and ammo.

    I can see her future.

    Bad Guy: Gimme yo' money.
Lady: *rifles though purse and pulls out her handgun*
BG: Thanks lady, for the gun. Now gimme yo' money too.

Speed loaders - but it takes lots of practice to quit dumping the rounds someplace other than the cylinder. (Practicing with live ammo can be dangerous, especially at first. Most dummy rounds are not heavy enough to eject 'cleanly' so it's hard to develop a smooth process.)

          She was using one.

I didn't know that speedy reloading was required for a ccw.

The class I took requires 3 stages you have 45 seconds at 15 yards to fire 6 shots reload and 6 more shots then 7 yards in 30 seconds then 15 seconds at 3 yards total of 36 rounds.

Same answer as "How do I get to Carnegie Hall?" - practice, practice, practice.

OTOH, did the class require one seek cover/concealment while reloading? That's arguably more important than speed of reload.

Sorry - dragging the thread in a new direction.

Point you were making seems to be 'she wasn't ready', and on evidence presented, I agree.

I will give her credit for taking a class, but the CCW instructor should have had the wherewithal to pull her aside and advise that she take a 101-basic course first, even if not simultaneously, to get her acclimated to firearms - and safe.

She is obviously sending all kinds of signals she needs a first-step novice course before jumping into applied or tactical training.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

This is America. Her reason for owning a gun is immaterial. She has the same right to own and carry as you do. Sounds like a new gun owner, but still one of us. She's actively seeking training, why belittle her? Would you be happier to see her passing out pro Hillary literature?

Was thinking the same, and someone should have stepped in to acknowledge her needs and pull her aside for more beginner level baby-steps.

Pushing her through a CCW training class when maybe she doesn't have the rudimentary skills to even be safe, is negligent.

It's no different than putting a S&W .500 Magnum in the hands of a new shooter and laughing it up; all well and good, until the shooter hits themselves in the head in arc from the recoil, or worse, befuddles the shot and the gun flips out of their hands, catching the trigger or dropping it, then firing again right at the shooter, for the stupidity of having more than one-wound loaded in it for a totally newb shooter not expecting such recoil.

They did, and she acknowledged she needed further training.

Never said she didn't and if she want's to support Hillary that would be fine too since it is her right to do so.

No body said anything about pushing her through, they will let her re-qualify after further training
