Noob Question: Additional Paperwork for a Long Rifle

It's been 5+ years since my last firearm purchase and decided to buy an AR.

I went in to start DROS and they said I need additional government issued paperwork such as vehicle registration with my current address when I come to pick up the rifle in 10 days. I sold my motorcycle last year, so I no longer have my registration. My car is actually still under my mother's name at her address, so that registration won't work either. They said a DWP bill would work, but I live in an apartment that has an odd way of doing this. DWP basically bills the landlord for the entire apartment building on one bill, and the landlord divides it up between the tenants (hence, no DWP bill with my name).

I was told that my Time Warner bill or my Socal Gas bill do not qualify as they are not government issued. What are my choices to provide additional paperwork for my rifle?

Thanks! This was perfect. Called the gun store and asked if this would suffice and they said yes. Did it online in 5 minutes and now my DROS wait continues.

You have unfortunately encountered an FFL who chooses to exercise a level of caution not supported in the Penal Code.

Proof of residency, by CA law, is required for handguns only. PC 26845
            26845.

            (a) No handgun may be delivered unless the purchaser, transferee, or person being loaned the firearm presents documentation indicating that the person is a California resident.

            (b) Satisfactory documentation shall include a utility bill from within the last three months, a residential lease, a property deed, or military permanent duty station orders indicating assignment within this state, or other evidence of residency as permitted by the Department of Justice.

            (c) The firearms dealer shall retain a photocopy of the documentation as proof of compliance with this requirement.
Apparently, if you choose to buy a long gun from this FFL, you must do more than the law requires.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
