    TiborasaurusRex

I found this mini series called sniper 101. By TiborasaurusRex. I been listening to him while doing choirs around the house. Has anyone else listened to this guy? I was just wondering if I should take what he teaches with a grain of salt or embrace it. As from my point of view, I think everything he says makes sense, but I am not a long range shooter yet. Anyways, grain of salt or wallow in it?

Grain of salt(a salt lick isn't necessary here like most other crap on youtube), and apply your own judgement when necessary based off of your experience and other research. It would likely be best to take the information presented, and use it as a basis for additional learning on your own via other means, rather than accept everything he says as gospel.

The playlist is called sniper 101 but he's added enough over the years to give at least a bachelor's degree.

He does go straight to the advanced topics though. If you're interested in getting into it at reasonable prices, .308 is a good one to start with factory ammo. Despite the advantages of fixed power scopes, variable power is just more fun and I personally didn't find notable optical differences.

Chris Kyle seemed to have settled into a .308 with an 18" barrel for his personal rifle.
With the release of Clint Eastwood’s movie, American Sniper, this weekend, I thought it might be fitting to look at the favorite rifles of the American hero, Chris Kyle. In his autobiography, Kyle said people ask a lot about the weapons he used as a sniper, so he talked some in the book about the ...

I listen to his stuff too, but some of it is so in depth it goes over my head.

If you want real good info, from a bonafide sniper team leader, look up the NSSF videos with Ryan Cleckner.

Well, unlike my father who tailored his 65 years of life around shooting, I am picking it back up again after a twenty year pause. So I am just trying to cram 20 years worth of lost shooting time with what ever I can get my ears dialed in on when I am not shooting. My biggest disappointment is the lack of long range places to legally shoot here in San fransicko Bay area. I am moving to the Houston, TX area next couple months and so keeping fingers crossed for a little more legally organized practical distance ranges for me to shoot. That's what brought up my question on the Rex character.
