i have a ar-180. i had to register it before the pre-ban with doj. unless you have a cert from them......you can't play with it.
however......i would do anything i could if i were you to get one. i love mine. absolutely a fun shoot. i am allowed to have mine without the bullet button, and the 40 round mags. ar-180 is a must have collector piece !!
(pm me if you have any questions)

On the list, must be a registered RAW.

Find a polymer lower one that is cracked. Have them sell everything, but the receiver. Get a NDS aluminium milled receiver and magazine lock. Enjoy.

I had one before I got Californicated. You would have to make, or get made, a bullet button. They also have a side folding stock that may make it too short.

If you get through all that, good luck getting magazines to work. People tried to cut a slot into AR-15 mags, but I've never seen any that worked well. The slot has to be very precisely placed. The alternative is paying and arm and a leg on real AR-180 mags and blocking them.

I love the Ar-180b have one myself and I prefer it to an ar-15. Does anyone know if the mpar upper works with the ar-180 lower?

i have had no problems cutting a small slot for the mag release. a dremel and a little bit of measuring will do the trick. my early 40 round mag-line mags, actually came with the slots cut on both sides.

Yeah, some of them have the upper as the serialized part, I thought. The AR-180 had a lot of features that "fixed" the AR-15 at the time. A true folding stock, AK-type gas system with handle on the bolt carrier, etc. But it was undeveloped.

The Daewoo does just about everything the AR-180 does, better. Single captured recoil spring instead of 2 loose ones, much more solid folding stock, adjustable gas port, etc. It's really polished. Unfortunately, very hard to find and will probably never be imported again. Mine got stolen.

The first 1,000 rifles of the 20,307 made had the upper receiver serialized. Those would be the ones manufactured by Howa, Japan. Later Howa's and all Costa Mesa and Sterling AR-180's had the lower receiver as the serialized part.

I think he meant to say that he had to register it as an "assault weapon" with the state, as they all say Armalite AR-180 some where on the upper receiver, so it is banned by name in Roberti-Roos AW list. So, if you have one, and it isn't registered with the state, you play with it at your own risk. Just spit-ballin' here though.
