There was an article not long ago about how since the UK made any assault with any weapon carried the same severe punishments and if they used an illegal gun, to the murder rate went way up as criminals felt it was better to eliminate potential witnesses rather than to risk being identified.
Yeap, guns are the problem...

It's sad how even the cops don't have guns.

The sad part of that scene is that the officer labored under the false pretense that he was even remotely in control. He didn't have the taser drawn and both his hands were busy and down. That attitude is deadly for him and his team. Plus, one of the perps had wire rim glasses in his hand.

While watching the video I could not shake the thought I was watching a Monty Python skit. Especially troubling was how the detective keeps a straight face while talking (starting at 3:24) of confiscating all knives.

If ever it is admitted that the evil lies within the heart I expect they'll seek to ban hearts. And they'll be quite serious about it.
