1500 arrests for owning a completed 80% receiver?

I was speaking to some gun owners today - ones who knew law enforcement officers and they were warning me of some stuff.

    1. In 2014 there were only around 14 Bay Area residents who had been arrested for owning a completed 80% receiver. Currently the list has grown to 1500 for all of California - ? I did notice the thread of the guy http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1161155 who was arrested lately - but supposedly this has been going on in a much more widespread manner? Not having a serial number is mentioned as one of the crimes charged - ?

    2. There supposedly is some California requirement that you only build one firearm a year for personal use - the 13 month rule - ? Building more than one a year violates this California rule? So when they ask you when you build them, make sure you state only one every 13 months - never heard of this before.

    3. VA consolers have been told to report patients who own guns and are under the influence of drugs or certain medical problems. I was told that sleep apnea was one of those problems. The authorities will confiscate weapons from such patients - ?

I was thinking that this stuff couldn't be true but they have been right in the past and they know more about this stuff than I do. Does anyone have any definite proof that these supposed California rules are true or false?

The first two are incorrect and the third is a partial truth.

FUD. Note I have not known LEO's (and have quite a few friends in the field) to be credible sources for California's maze of firearms laws though generally far superior to LGS employees.

I think there should be a contest between the two to decide once and for all. I'd give a slight edge to the LGS. Someone there has some idea of the law to keep them in business.

I'm sure people are arrested all the time for not having the right setup on their AR's such bullet button with standard cap mags or not fully featureless.

It seems pretty easy considering all the B.S. neutery you have to do in order to not have an "assault weapon" in California.

3rd is fud too....my wife is a VA counselor and has never been ordered to report anyone's gun ownership unless they report they are suicidal and being 5150'd.

Why are you sure of that?

I would venture that such arrests are quite rare...

                          Where's the evidence for this?

Under what authority would the guns be taken?

Guns cannot be confiscated simply for outpatient care. Someone can be on 10 psych meds, and seeing a psychiatrist 5 times a week, and maintain their guns.

Losing one's guns results from a legal process by which your right to make decisions for yourself are abridged (5150 hold, involuntary commitment, etc.). Seeing a doctor isn't one of these.

In every thread where someone posts about a doctor (regular of VA) asking about guns, I always say just answer 'no'. Don't obfuscate, say something like none of your business (which could be entered as yes), or try to give a cute answer. Just say 'no'.

Some people always point out that's lying, and, that's true. But, in the big boy, cold hard world, one can't always tell the truth in every single circumstance. With a little thinking, we can come up with many other situation in which simply stating the truth isn't the best course of action. That's real life.

I am looking for definitive proof for the truth of the matter of the original post.

Hell, I also got told that the Sherriff's department in Santa Clara has been told that if someone is charged with a felony they have to confiscate any assault weapon and destroy it within 72 hours. Even if the person is found innocent. Sounds crazy to me.

The VA does have vets placed on the FBI prohibited persons list for simply having PTSD. Knew of my friends who saw combat and received the Bronze Star was diagnosed with PTSD and the VA informed him that he can no longer own firearms.
