I've always been asked for proper documentation at the start of dros. If your DL has the wrong information on it, it's your responsibility to bring in the required documentation. Don't blame the store.

They do it as a matter of policy. Saves them headaches of having people not bringing in paperwork. Should just come back the next day with it OP. Not really a huge deal. I wouldn't expect anything different from another FFL unless I knew them very well.

Turners has actually let a buyer of one of my guns show everything on the day of pick up because her address was different to give her to time to get it changed.

Well I guess it varies from each place. I've always brought in the car registration at time of pickup at both Riflegear and Ammo bros plus another LGS that I had my 308 shipped to. Was under the impression that you just needed DL to start the DROS

Lol. Cause I had my wife's car and didn't want to make multiple trips. All I'm saying is that it doesn't violate any law to do it that way or else the other stores wouldn't have done it.

Except for stores that want it up front to get it out of the way so people don't come back 10 or 11 days later with something missing and end up wasting everyone's time.

I forgot my car reg once, I walked back out to the car and grabbed it after telling the shop that's what I was going to do and things went fine.

Also, you may not mean it, but it seems like you're trying to put you not having the right address on your DL on the shop, as if it's their problem.

OP, you have to remember that the clerk works with the public daily. And the majority of the public is retarded these days. I'm not saying you are, but he's just covering his @ss. I've never known a gun store that would accept just a DL with the wrong address on it to start DROS. And I've bought a LOT of guns.

Soooo a store has a gun you want at a price you like and the store wants to be sure that they're not going to have an address/documentation problem BEFORE they start all the paperwork...and just like a ton of other FFL's out there...and this is a problem for you?
