    Scenario

Let's change the situation to you having a ccw and remember your car is on E

Here's the situation. You stop at a gas station in the middle of the night some guy walks up to your window you only roll down one inch to hear him, but not enough for him to reach in. The guy keeps inviting you and your girl to a hotel to party. You drive a few feet after you said no and the guy follows. Your lost don't know the area and your fuel tank is close to E. What would you do if you couldn't just drive off?

This happened to me years ago. I had half a tank and simply drove off to the next station. I had stopped to get directions, but the guy made it impossible.

You know, it's not healthy to fantasize about such things...

but since you're asking I'd use any piece I had with me. Even a 22 LR would penetrate the door. But I'd have at least a .380 with Underwood Extreme Penetrator 90 gr. ammo in it.
I like my ammo like I like my women, cheap and dirty!

Things happen in real life sometimes GPS doesn't work properly. That same situation happened when I was 19 and took my girlfriend to LA. The truck had half a tank and I had stopped for directions, but kept driving after the guy came to my window twice. But hey thanks for being an a** h**

If you're driving and the guy is on foot then just drive off. It only escalates if you let it. Have you ever shot a gun while inside a car with no ear protection? You don't come out of that unscathed.

Which caliber and in what gun would you press against the door panel or window and trust to do its job if the situation escalates?
If the situation escalates, stay in your vehicle and call the cops.

Unless you have a valid CA LTC permit, it would be illegal for you to have a loaded firearm in your vehicle.

What are you afraid he's going to do exactly? Ask you guys to party in a raised voice? The horrors....

If you have a valid CA LTC permit, what you can use (handgun/caliber) will be limited to what is listed on your permit.

Per CA laws... the CA LTC permit will list the make, model, caliber, and serial number of the handguns you are authorized to carry.
In addition, the issuing agency authorizes what is allowed (handgun/caliber) on the permits they issue.
So, you need to inquiry with your issuing agency on what is allowed.

                That said...
If the situation escalates and you can not drive away, then stay in your vehicle and call the cops.

No matter what happens, if you draw your handgun, you will need to call the cops.

I'd drive off even on E. Go a mile wait it out an hour, then head back and get my gas and go. Even on E I'd have the gas to do a 2 mile round trip. If I ran out, so be it.

This is why I don't normally gas up the car after 8pm, or in shady or questionable areas.

If I'm in my car, I'm driving away 99.999% of the time. Good luck catching a car on foot.

I'd lifelt my shirt, show him my (in)visible abs (I've got a six-pack, I just keep it in a keg), scream tere hanges, and give him the crazy eyed look, while discussing the high profile chicks I bang, and my status as a ninja, black ops, tier one operator.

OP pay no attention to AreWeFree. He can be a little grumpy sometimes.

Seriously... I don't let my car that low on gas and I don't fill up in sketchy areas.
