    browning question

Im thinking of picking up a browning BAR .270 Win SemiautoRifle with Leupold scope. Not sure what power scope im assuming a 3x9x40. Its my other bro in laws. he wants to sell it to me for 550. Is that a good price and is a 270 a good reliable easy to find caliber? i only shot 30-06s for hunting deer. My other bor in law has a 270 and he loves it. Bullet looks itty bitty though
    Thanx

What vintage and grade? .270 is GTG for most of North America and is easy to find.

I just bought a .270 for the reason that it is very flat shooting, reasonably powerful - just slightly lower than .308, and very common. I'm pretty sure it's in the top 5 most popular hunting calibers. It's a necked down 30-06 with a lighter bullet. Should be great for deer out to 500 yards or so.

I'll first in line to give a thumbs up for all Brownings...had a BAR and it shot as good as any bolt action...sorry I sold it

I'll be first to take it if you don't want it. Send me a PM

BTW---30-06 for deer? In Calif? Way overkill.

... not if you're going for one of those double-kills!
