I was in the break room at work yesterday where the television is usually on. Normally I don't pay much attention but I happened to look up just in time for a Glock commercial! It was a full 30 second spot, we'll done, professional ad. I have never seen a gun commercial on television before. I think it was on the Investigate Discovery station, during an episode of some true crime show. The reaction of everyone else in the room was pretty funny too, typical 'oh my God' and 'what are they trying to say, that everyone should have a gun' nonsense (said with proper Valley Girl inflection as well). Just thought I'd share this since I'm still a bit surprised.

Gun Commercials on TV

Gun companies are weird about thier advertising. A year or so ago we had a marketing partner who did not need or care about signage on the car or at track displays, and since we had most of the expenses covered so I contacted a few firearms companies about putting them on the cars, doing at-track or other event promotions, etc. at little to no cost to them. The CEO/President of the series at that time was extremely pro-gun and 2A and was all for it. In fact what I really wanted to do was a 2A car. Like literally major signage, passes to the races, booths at the event in the paddock (not the vendor areas) VIP weekends for thier employees/venders/whoever, Noveske was the only one who called me back, and it sounded like she was interested but they didnt go forward for whatever reason, Magpul called me back but they were a few weeks late and missed the boat. CMMG etc. did not even call back.
I am always shocked when I see gun advertising on regular TV or pretty much anywhere other than sporting magazines or channels. I was kinda shocked to see Remington car in Nascar, but that does more or less make sense.
Still would have been sweet to do a "2A" race car, with black rifle silhouettes on the fenders or hood, racing at Sonoma and Laguna...
I do actually have a Magpul logo instead of a Mazda emblem, mostly because Mazda doesnt pay me unless I win..

Ha, no dormitory, it's just that their thinly veiled disgust came off as very 'angry cheerleader' sounding to me. All adults, men and women.Comment
