    Botach Tactical .. data point

I decided to buy some stuff from Botach around January of this year. It took me about 45 minutes drive to get there. I rang the bell. They would not let me in unless I showed them law enforcement badge, which I am not. They would not let me in.

I will never buy anything from them even if they are the only people who carry it. Just show them the same respect that they show their clients, which is none.

Botach Tactical. Took 2 months for them to ship my order. They actually needed to get my credit card info AGAIN after 3 weeks. Finally shipped and got here. 2 months is a long time - just sharing, you decide if this is cool or not cool.

Mention Botach on AR15.com, and be prepared to weather a veritable ****storm! Seems you'd be best off to go to their shop and buy it there, they seem to miss more than they hit on shipping out orders.

Recently, I emailed BoTach and asked if they had a particular item in stock. They replied with a "yes we do" I went ahead and placed my order. My credit card was charged the same day and one week later I had no confirmation of shipment. They’re located in Socal. I give them a call and I'm auto forwarded into voice mail, which is full, and no messages could be left. NOT GOOD.
I finally get a hold of some women who tells me the order is being dropped shipped from the vender. I couldn't believe it. I raised a fuss and they found one in stock all of a sudden!
When I received the product it was clearly used, but in working order.

I've had good luck with all my Botach orders in the past, but they're generally stuff they've sent out an ad for.

I decided to order something non-critical and non-sale from them a while back (May?), and figured I'd see how it went. I got an order acknowledgement, and that was it.

Well, about 3 weeks ago, I get an email saying "All your backordered stuff is in - do you still want it? We'll upgrade you to 3 day shipping if you do."

I answered "Yes", and waited. After a week or so, I looked at the email again, and it had no order number or other reference info, so I responded to it again with the original order number and email.

That's the last I've heard. At first, I kept hoping each new package was from them, but at this point, it'll be like a surprise in the mail...

Or on any gun forum, for that matter. I've never used Botach, but from what I've read on various websites, they're just about the worst gun-related establishment out there. With all the terrible publicity, I wonder how they stay in business.

Any ten second search on any search engine will show that they are one of the worst companies in the gun business.

The reason they stay in business is because they have a wide selection, unique and hard to find items at the very lowest prices. The problem is you’re rolling the dice every time you place an order. Pretty sad...

I made one purchase from Botach back in 2000. My order came 2 months after it was placed (and I had asked if items were in stock) and I got a wrong part, which they replaced with the right one when I sent back the wrong part on my own dime. Still mighta saved a little money, but when you have to pay CA sales tax I decided no more Botach for me. It is too bad that they only sell out the door to LEO, if you could walk in and get the item in hand that would be pretty nice and negate the long waits and problems.
If it was a snake, it would have bit me.

Had a couple good experiences with them, but mostly really bad. I may try again some time, but I will be calling myself Sgt Ted Bell. Maybe that will help.

Out of 5 times. 2 Good 3 bad. The 3 bad were out of stock and took a long time or never came but I was never charged.
