Replacement of Glock Gen 2 17 rd magazine

Question: I own a Glock 17 Gen 2, purchased in 1996, sold with two 17rd magazines.

However, one of my magazines was stolen during a burglary 10 years ago. Is there a legal way to replace the higher cap magazine here in CA?

    Please advise,

    Thank you.

    Nope.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

There is no legal method to replace the large capacity magazine that was stolen.

What is wrong with a 10 rounder for $24.95???

Not happy with that? Move out to AZ or NV.

            Order a new mag body.

Then the spare parts of the follower and spring that you have can be put back into your 17 round mag.

Ahhh...you dont have the spring and follower. ..but already have the mag body and end cap? Just order those then.

It's not illegal to buy a replacement part.

NOPE! you MAY NOT import "parts kits" that means ANY part or parts necessary to convert a 10 rounder into a "hi-cap" that means the body.

Ok, i misread that he just needed to fix his legally owned standard magazines.

I am unclear i guess, if my 15 round magazine i carry daily on my g19 for ccw , if the spring breaks or i run over the mag body and it cracks i am completely legal to order a replacement part.

                  Read and be guided...

Magazines: all the answers you need

                  6. YES, you may keep any 'parts kits' you own before Jan 1, 2014. It appears that acquiring a 'parts kit' by any means is illegal from 2014 forward.

Separate parts: We do not know, nor can we guess, what is the definition of a 'large capacity magazine conversion kit'. We do not know if just a body, or just a spring, or just a baseplate, or just a follower might be enough. Until we get a court case with clarification - and I promise, such a case will get very prominent discussion! - there is no point in asking the FAQ.

Still not illegal to order repair parts. You cant order the entire magazine disassembled in one shipment.

Its such a load of crap, the cadoj can take a flying leap to hell. Some pigs are more equal then others, although the blood is same color.

Say I ordered 100 repair kits a few years back for my glocks i bought decades ago...... what you going to do? Nothing....rebuild my 15 round mags and go shoot.

Actually, it is illegal. The new law says that a "conversion kit" is not legal. The definition of a conversion kit is any part or parts that can make a large capacity magazine. So far, no one has challenged the law and it seems, no one wants to be the first

Please cite your source for that definition. I've yet to see any legal definition.

I still have rebuild kits a bought prior. I have a plan B as well, drive to sons house in AZ with my legal hicap mags, make repairs there, drive back home with my repaired and still legal mags.

It's in the sticky in the "How California law effects me"

I've also seen it in the code, if that doesn't satisfy you. I'll check later, I'm on my phone and can't do much searching
