Looking for a trusted 1911 smith in OC area

My dad just picked up a compact Kimber 1911 for ccw. He had six failures of the first 120 rounds, each identical, either a very light or even invisible primer strike. He saved one, but the others fire on the second strike.

I told him I think it's either a weak mainspring, or something interfering with the firing pin.

    He lives in north OC.

Anyone have a trusted 1911 guy nearby/reasonably nearby to sort this out?

    Thanks.

You might want to give the gun the pencil test and see if the pencil moves much.

That will tell you a bunch.

PM me if you need more info. I think you have my phone number. If not. PM.

I live in North OC and drove out to Upland. Just off the 10 freeway. I also had a compact 1911, mine was a Colt Officers Model. Here is a link to my experience.

With a Kimber I would suspect a weak mainspring or an incorrectly timed FP block.

I would have a couple other questions.

                          What ammo was he using?
Is there any chance he didn't get the grip safety in all the way?

                            Then said He unto them...
"and he that hath no 1911 designed by my servant John Moses Browning,
let him sell his garment and buy one."
And they said, "Lord, behold, here are two Glocks."
And He said unto them, "Meh, it's a good start."
