There is a great new documentary on Netflix titled 'Cartel Land' that I watched. It is focused on a group of citizens in Mexico called Autodefensa who have armed themselves and began to protect their town by removing cartel. They gained support and started going town to town, removing cartel and helping to arm the citizens of those towns to protect themselves in the future.
I really like it for two reasons. It shows that an armed, lawful gun owning citizen can protect themselves from enemies foreign and domestic while not being a mass-murderer, or psychotic redneck gun owner. I'm a Sharks and Giants fan so I read the SF news quite a bit. After the SB attack, the liberal war cry in the comment section was, "where are all these examples of guns protecting people and preventing crime." This documentary is their answer, complete with a social agenda to tug at their bleeding little hearts.
Second, it really puts the liberal gun control agenda in a "politically correct" bind. The liberal view is that it's not "politically correct" to own guns, yet here are towns full of impoverished citizens in Mexico who are being slaughtered, (which tears at their social minded "politically correct" hearts) and guns are saving them. Forced gun control (which the liberals love) would lead to the innocent women being raped (which is sexist and not "politically correct") and the innocent men being beheaded, which isn't "politically correct" either.
Political rant aside, it's a good movie and it shows why the Second Amendment is not only so important, but also still practical and realistic in today's modern society, despite the liberal outcry that the Second Amendment is outdated...
