    How strong is HDPE?

    This guy built an AR15 lower out of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene): http://www.weaponeer.net/forum/forum...035&PN=1&TPN=3



    Looks like the damn thing runs too!

        as long as the buffer tube thread area is strong the AR will work. The rest could be made out of top ramen, it doesn't see much stress

              Why just not use Bushmasters Carbon lower? It seems like it would be the lightest.

                              Your receiver doesn't get that hot.

                              The AR receiver sees so little stress.

                              I'd only worry about the extension and what would happen with a KB.
