    S&W 4506

I have an old 4506 and wonder what others use to clean up the look of the steel.

The gun is clean, but the steel looks darker than it did when it was brand new. I wanted to clean it so it the steel looks like it did new, but not polished. What kind of solution would you recommend?

Try some Simple Green but be sure to make sure you don't get any inside of the gun, it's corrosive.

I believe that is stainless steel, correct? Try household vinegar and rub with the grain. Don't use anything abrasive unless you want the polished look. When done cleaning give it a light coat of oil. Don't try it on blued guns as it removes bluing.
