Trijicon hd night sights.. Gone Bad??

I left my TLR1 light on focused at my trijicon hd night sights ALL DAY! (Smh) ...the green looks a little dimmer will this ruin my sights?

That shouldn't hurt them. Remember that there is a tiny piece of tritium behind the glow in the dark piece in your night sight. That's like having a flashlight on all the time.

If your night sight seem dim, the tritium is not emitting as much energy. Change em out.

I looked up the half life of Tritium for you and get 12 years. So in 12 years the dots could look about half as bright, and definitely last longer than one year. Shinning a light on Tritium will not affect what's going in the atom's nucleus. It emits light automatically by beta decay from the nucleus and nothing to do with excitation from external source (flash light).

Is there a covering over the dots (I don't have any of these sights)? If that gets dirty that could affect the light reaching your eye. Like the solar pannels that I have need frequent cleaning to let maximum light through/into the cell to allow full charging.

some folks damage the vials when they use the wrong tool to install the sights.... IF not, they glow for decades...
