    Sig P226 Legion- 9mm

Anyone had any experience with this piece? I've seen comments it's just a sales pitch.. but, I've also seen where some of the nice things that have been done to it are pretty good.. for instance polished trigger mechanism, some knurling on the grips, etc.

MSRP looks pretty steep.. but some dealers are down to near the price of the Elite and not much more than the MK25. Wishing Cabela's handled them.. but, I'm guessing it'll be a bit down the road. Cabela's is pricy.. but, considering mega points from using their credit card.. it'd be "free".

    It's a nice gun, but I don't think it's on roster.

That's the bummer with the newer Sig handguns - none of the cool new ones are on-roster, and the on-roster ones have the stupid CA features on them.

I agreed to buy a P226 Scorpion last year via PPT from a friend who needed to unload it, and since it was right after the SSE apocalypse, I thought it was an off roster gun. When I went to see it, I realized that it had the crap LCI on it - but I didn't want to back out because I had already agreed to buy it.

The CA features (despite what people say) really aren't that bad in my opinion. I'd prefer to not have them, but the gun shoots fine and the LCI doesn't bother me too much. I'm actually thinking about picking up a P226 Mk25 Navy.

This whole "Legion" thing has really soured me on Sig in general.

Remember when they just made great guns?

Now they have bowed to all of this video game cool, mass market bullcr@p.

I'm sure that some folks are wowed by this whole pseudo-elite "Legion" club, and that's fine.

But for me it all means that I'll continue to shoot my older Sigs, but I'm sure not looking to purchase anything else from them in the future.

I tend to agree - I liked them much more when the Germans ran the whole show. I also liked them more when they had fewer gimmicks (having 100 choices of P226 variants is a bit insane in my opinion). But, they're in a competitive marketplace and they have a pretty aggressive marketing team. As long as quality doesn't suffer, I still like their products (although they were hit and miss for a while there).

I like the reduced beaver tail contour, relieved under trigger guard and other enhancement.

I'm a member. That's all I have to say about that.

Sig p226 and 229 legion are not on the roster. I would love to get my hands on one but the price on sale in here is over 2k.

I've said it before & I'll say it again, don't fall for Sig's BS hype ~ A P226, is a P226, is a P226....... Great pistol/platform, the super special models are there to raise the price & seperate you from your hard earned cash!
