Does anyone know what happened to the property after the range closed? Was it taken over by the Rock/Quarry company around it? I used to shoot there in the 90's

I used to shoot there as well. I do not know what happened with the property, from what I understand after they built homes in Azusa Canyon they received too many complaints from the new home owners.
I miss that place. -
Same here. It was the first range I went to with my first gun. It was also the first time my pop and I went shooting together. Good memories. Here is a picture I took in 2006, the year it closed down I believe. It was my last trip there. Can't believe that was 10 years ago!Last edited by EspoMan; 05-21-2016, 3:02 PM.Living in the free State of NevadaComment

I miss that place too.
The target stands were so easy to set up since the spots in the ground (concrete holes for target stands) were numbered for the lane. Unlike Angeles were you have to drag a railroad tie and attempt to align your target to your lane. Often times neighboring shooters put their target in the wrong lane.Comment

I miss that place also. Closest rifle range to those in the south of LA."Bruen, the Bruen opinion, I believe, discarded the intermediate scrutiny test that I also thought was not very useful; and has, instead, replaced it with a text history and tradition test." Judge Benitez 12-12-2022

I too, miss that place. It was close enough so that we could enjoy our hobby without having to go through a major ordeal. When those homes were built, I asked the range officer if anybody started complaining about the noise yet. He said not yet but 6 months later, I started seeing reports that the city of Azusa was holding public hearings about closing down the range. Sad. The range was the least of the new home owner's worries. One day we will see bits and pieces of those homes floating down the San Gabriel river when a real El Nino hits us. Seems like a bad location to put houses.Comment
