I do not think most of the folks here hate the police. It is just the disappointment factor causing the snarky and mean comments. You gotta admit they do a lot of stupid s!@t and get away with it. But, if you as a civilian (= little people) do the same, oh boy you are in deep bandini not to mention the tack on charges.

I wonder when Feds will descend on OCSD like they did LASD. Jailhouse informant scandal, jailbreak and now this. Time to clean house, starting at the top.

Kinda had a feeling things would not improve when they picked an LASD lifer/retiree to be the new appointed sheriff.

        What?

What did they do for the bloodhounds? Hold a box of .556 in front of their nose and see if they caught on to a trail?

The deputies' scent would be on the case.

Don't confuse police with deputies, and I hate neither. What I do hate is the harmful combination of laziness, stupidity, and arrogance which are three traits the OCSD has in abundance.

Just the fact that we have different rules for civilians vs the LEOs irks me. If a firearm is UNSAFE for a civilian who might use it occasionally, then it is doubly UNSAFE for LEOs whose life might depend on it.

I get the exception for access the standard magazines and automatic weapons for LEOs for that is a "tools of trade" issue. However, the UNSAFE argument with the roster doesn't wash.

Why bother, cheap furniture and run of the mill lower and upper. Only thing worth having is the mags and really... I think most of use have better quality mags.

I would rather find it and call a news crew over saying "look what I found"

Well, OCSD has a better ratio than DHHS when it comes to lost or stolen firearms.

Police have no need for NFA weapons. And since police are civilians, the same rules should apply.

Dang boy. You sure are distracted in more ways than one.

I open the trunk and look at the range bag every time I stop and am separated from the car. One time a friend was with me and asked why I keep opening the trunk? My reply was " it will look very stupid if I had to call the police for my stolen guns and tell the officer it was stolen somewhere along a 60 miles stretch but I do not know where"

Find rifle, attach bullet button. Find magazines, permanently alter to 10 rounds.

Strip it down and sell the lower at a gun buy back.
