flying with powder vs flying with ammo

Flying with powder is a no-no, isn't it? ESPECIALLY black powder?

Does that mean for BPCR shooters, flying with ammo is a no-no too? or is the ammo OK?

And if the ammo is OK, what's to stop a guy (bp or smokeless, but it makes more sense with BP) to do something like fill 1x fired 50 BMG cases with BP, seat a bullet, fly, then open the cases after landing and pour out the powder? Might take 30 rounds to get a pound of powder, but it would eliminate the need to scramble for a source of BP after landing.

    Unless illegal....

(the followup would be best "loading" methods, but right now it's exploratory for legality)

    ---------------------------------------------

edit (after post 9 was written):

I worded the whole thread poorly. All boils down to one question: flying with BPCR, legal or not?

Black powder as you know ...is an explosive. No fly list for black powder...

Is that what you do when you fly with a gun and smokeless loaded cartridges?

              Did you read Ronin2's reply.?

Black powder is banned because it's explosive. Smokeless is not explosive. (Cartridges)

Ronin's reply did not make it clear if he was addressing loaded ammo or loose powder.

No loose powder, either black or smokeless is allowed on Airplanes.
                    For good reasons.

Black Powder is specifically banned in any form from Commercial flights and has been for ages. Black powder is a Class 1.10, Packing Group II, number UN0027 “Explosive”

I suggest you take a look at Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Regulations (Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations) and also know that you would be in violation of:
Air Navigation Order (Carriage of Dangerous Goods) Act
DOT Research & special Programs Administration
                      Patriot Act
                      Safe Explosives Act
                      Aviation & Transportation Security Act
                      TSA Security Regulations

No, They are not paranoid. Just tired of stupid questions. And yes, contrary to the popular saying, there is such a thing passed a point.

If you are so into BPWHATEVER and want to take your BP with you, then ask other members of BPWHATEVER club and they will tell you how it is done safely and legally. Better yet, google gun shops in your destination and buy it when you get there. When done, hand the extra over to a local shooter and come home.

Why in the name of JHC would any one with 1/3 the brain of a jack ***** would want to pull that stupid operattion with .50 BMG rounds?? Even if one is not thinking about common sense, why would you risk the life of air traveller and their babies over $20 bucks worth of BP that you can probably by at destination. Ever heard of LI batteries catching fire?? All it takes is one those and this geneous transport scam.

No disrespect meant to anyone. It just amazes me that people even think about such stories with all the recent event.

Yep understood. It was clear I worded the thread poorly. Goal was to give proper context, and I blew it. I put in an edit, preserved the blown verbiage. Topic was supposed to be "loaded ammo" that used "explosives" rather than "propellant".
