Name That Cartridge: Part 3

So I'm visiting my parents this week and my dad was recently given a cartridge collection. There are a LOT of obscure cartridges in the collection. I thought it would be fun to play "Name that cartridge" with the geniuses at Calguns.

Here is the cartridge in question (pictured with .45 ACP for size)

From what I understand, this was for the Remington Rolling Block Pistol

Nope. It's a benet prime, still centerfire.

edit: That crimp toward the rim is holding the benet primer cup, it's a centerfire.

I can only find it listed as a rimfire, even though it has the benet primer cup.

Also seen it referred to as .50 Remington Navy and .50 Remington Pistol, but still categorized as a rimfire.

Rimmed cartridge yes, not rimfire(or lipfire). Whoever called that a rimfire is simply wrong, because it wouldn't work in a rimfire gun even if chambered for it.

Must have been some other random conversion then? Or one of those cartridges the navy or army adopted for a whopping 6-12 months.

I see it referred to as 50 Caliber Remington SS Pistol Benet primed here:

Remington Navy 1865 rolling block pistols were chambered for .50 rimfire and then the Navy produced a centerfire version in 1867. This is likely a cartridge for the centerfire pistol.
