    Spotted in the wild...

So I'm checking out the Consumerist this afternoon (if you've never seen it, it's a great site for learning how to exercise your right as a consumer, get deals and the occasional bad product revenge story.) And what do I see at the bottom of the page where they list the daily specials and deals gleaned from various online sources?
    EDIT: forgot the direct link

Dunno it just struck me as odd.

I have a perfect Burning Man attendance record: zero.

Is that a good deal? It sounds like it. I just might have to pick one up if this is real!

Wow, for Cabela's, and in general, that's a good price for the MP9c.

This may very well be correct.

Not really. If I remember correctly, the Consumerist was founded by one of the original founders of the gizmodo or engadget blogs (forget which one), both of which are based in NYC, founded by some pretty left-leaning geeks, and have shown themselves to be pretty anti-gun, pro-obama.

So seeing an ad for a gun does strike me as a little odd.
                Please read the Calguns Wiki
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

If you read the details for this deal, it is not so hot as this is not really the price. The actual price is $499, then there's $100 bonus for signing up for a store credit card, then there's some kind of $20 coupon from a newspaper, then $50 rebate check from S&W. Voila: $360.

That's funny. I don't know about their politics, but Giz and Engadget have both givem me the very distinct impression that they love anything that goes BOOM! C'mon man. Everyone knows that geeks LOVE guns.
