EXACTLY!! I did that right after I bought a Colt Series 80 many years ago, so now I'm super cautious when I handle my guns to prevent that from ever happening again. Fortunately the coating on the Wilson is a lot tougher than the blueing on the Colt.

Man, congrats on what is probably one of the...if not the best 1911s out there! I got my fully loaded Stainless Protector brand new in 2007 for $2200. Boy, they've really gone up since then. Enjoy and you know this will make any other Christmas present you get seem lame
