Shipping just a stripped pistol frame

Shipping just a stripped handgun frame still needs to be shipped overnight ups, right? Reason why I ask is because I need some work done on a 1911 frame. Some folks are saying a bare pistol frame can be shipped ground. Others say that's a no no, must shipped overnight with fedex or ups. I think the no no guys are right. What do you guys say about it?
