I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this optic from Amazon?

I don't want to spend a lot of money and I don't shoot very often so I'm just looking for something that has the cool factor but also can be accurate. As well as let me know your experiences with this optic, could anyone recommend other optics that could be purchased on Amazon for around 70 dollars that they have have good experience with?

Some made in china facog is not going to be worth putting on anything. It's airsoft junk(and even for airsoft it's junk).

Other options from manufacturers that would also be decent are: Vortex, some bushnell models, burris, leupold but they can get a little pricey real fast, SWFA, and so on.

edit: Didn't even notice at first that the facog is just a red dot and not even magnified. Same as above, bushnell, burris, leupold, vortex, primary arms, etc. All of the chinese acog clones are junk, one does not need to have bought the specific model you're looking at to know it's junk, it's the same as the other $30 facogs so at the "discounted" $70 price you're still being ripped off.

Well, it looks like an ACOG, but that appears to be where the similarities end. The reviews are pretty brutal, but at $68, it might be good for plinking. I would not use this on anything that you want to be dependable, which means I would not use this sight on anything that I own. I have owned my share of cheap sights...and they tend to be a waste of money. Spend a little more for something that meets your needs and will function for a very long time (at least until CA confiscates your firearms).

Thanks for your input. It is for my first gun which is a Del-Ton AR that I am picking up on Thursday, which I will probably take to the range once every 2-3 months, so I am not looking for something too serious.

the gun didn't come equipped with a rear iron sight, and I'm not really interested in buying any, I would prefer a red dot or something similar.

The Amazon manufacturer's description says "100 yards Eye relief". Yeah I know, it's just translational English. But it speaks to the likely quality of the product.

Take your chances and order one. You may get a $69 sight....so expect no more than the price paid.

Buy cheap get CHEAP.

Buy a PA red dot and save your pennies for a real deal.

Stick with a reputable brand that you can have a warranty with like that Bushnell red dot somebody linked above that was cheaper or this Browning sight which is nearly $20 less
