    Need some quick advice

I have a Socom 16 that I am wanting to trade, a guy is offering me a Remington 700 VLS 223, with a MDT LSS chassis, and a Nikon M223 3-12 with a BDC reticle. Would it be wrong of me to trade the Socom for the rifle, or keep it? Thanks in advance!

    ^^There's the Remington, obviously^^

    ^^And my Socom^^

For what it's worth, Turner's is selling standard M1A for $999.00

I did not know that, but it's a good bit of information.

Don't base it off turners 1 day sale price the socom is worth more. That scope on the 700 is ok. You lose semi auto for bolt.

Send the M1A back to Springfield and have them put a 22" barrel and standard aperture sights. Maybe 350 bucks at the most I would imagine. Then you'll have the rifle you wanted when you bought a SOCOM.

              Personally, I like the socom.

But if you like it, make the trade.

It really doesn't matter what we all say. But if you're asking, it seems to me that deep down you might not want to make the trade.

              Sorry, not sorry.

Thanks for everyone's quick responses. I have a M1A in a EBR chassis that I love, and that's why I got the Socom (got it for a steal), to complement it. I have a 700 already in that configuration but different caliber. I like nikon scopes but my vortex out number them greatly on my most common used firearms.

At least change the stock to a USGI M14 one. Maybe Krylon the black "composite" one. Spruce it up a little. Might change your whole outlook on it.

I planned to change the stock to a AG composite CBR stock, but the USGI stock is much cheaper.

Trade isn't very good for you, it's a .223 with inexpensive scope and aftermarket stock. You could buy/build that new for about $1,200 - $1,300.
                      I just don't see a practical reason for a bolt action .223.

Looking back at my build, I completely agree with you. I built mine for 1900 but I put a better scope on mine. And I already have a MVP varmint in 223 and countless AR's.
